Alnico Magnets...

Alnico magnets, discovered in the 1940's, are used in special applications where relatively high operating temperatures, 250 to 450 degrees F, high magnetic stability and ease of magnetizing in the assembly are required. The Alnico magnets are made by casting into special shapes and heat-treating in a magnetic field, followed by grinding and machining operations to customer's size specifications.

For special shapes and small sizes, Alnico magnets are made by powder metallurgy techniques, followed by heat-treatment and machining and grinding.  Polymag procures the magnets from select sources in Europe and the Far East, performs secondary operations - finishing and magnetizing and quality control and supplies to customer's specifications.
